Charles R Angert, 92, formerly from Erie, Pennsylvania, died peacefully in Winter Park, Florida on September, 20, 2011. The son of H.J. and Nora Mullane, Charles served in World War II as a Sergeant in the 426th Night Fighter Squadron of the US Army. He married his sweetheart Sheila Doyle of Erie, PA. After being discharged in November 1945 he started his career working for Cochran Brothers Trucking Company later to become Lyon’s Transportation based in Erie, PA. He served as VP of Operations and retired after 40 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed his retirement years living in Florida with his family. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion, The Elk’s Club, and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He is preceded in death by his wife Sheila, of 39 years, his brothers Frank and Pat and his sister Martha. Charles is survived by his four loving sons and their wives, Patrick Michael (Joyce) of Fort Lauderdale, Fl; Kevin Charles (Amy) of Winter Park, Fl; Michael Patrick of Commerce City, MI.; and Sean Doyle ( Sabrina) of Charlotte, NC. and his sister Rita Paulson of The Woodlands, TX. He had 5 loving grandchildren, Allison, Calen, Ryan, Christine and Katherine. The Family requests that charitable contributions be made in his name to Catholic Charities of Erie, Pennsylvania.
