Carolyn Ann Lexvold Marting

Carolyn Ann Lexvold Marting, 77, of The Villages, FL, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017. Carolyn was born in Spencer, Iowa and attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She went onto earn her BA from The University of Akron, and her Master’s Degree from Kent State University in Speech Pathology and Audiology. Carolyn was a very successful Realtor in the Akron area, a career that spanned over forty years. She was the President of Carolyn Marting Realty Co., which she founded in 1988. Carolyn served as the past President of the Akron Area Board of Realtors, Women’s Council of Realtors, as well as serving on the Board of Directors and a Trustee for many community and professional organizations. Carolyn was a true mentor to others. Hiking and being a part of the Metro Parks in Summit County was something that she truly enjoyed. The F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm was a great importance and love in her life. This joy and love of nature was shared with her daughters at a very young age, and she passed this onto her grandchildren. After living in the Akron Community for many years, Carolyn retired to The Villages, FL., in 2008. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; Robert and Norma Lexvold and her husband E. Louis Marting, Jr. Carolyn is survived by her daughters; Kristine (Steve), Kimberly (Dennis), Suzanne and Carole (Daniel). Step-children Marion and Bill. Brothers; Robert (Judy) Richard (Susan); Grandchildren, Jenna & Alec. Nephew; Brent. Nieces; Tracy, Nicole and Alyssa. Our family wishes to thank her friends and extended family of The Villages, FL., for your caring and support. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Metro-Parks Foundation/Naturerealm, 975 Treaty Line Road, Akron, Ohio 44313.
