Carolyn Hughes

November 11, 1938 — February 16, 2025

Carolyn Hughes, 86, peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025. Born in Humboldt, Tennessee, Carolyn made her way to Central Florida in the mid-1950s, where she graduated from Mount Dora High School in 1956.

Throughout her life, Carolyn devoted herself to her family while working as a waitress. She was the type of person who never met a stranger because she would easily strike up a conversation with anyone while waiting in the check out line at the grocery store. She had a knack for growing any kind of plant with beautiful flowers and was especially partial to her roses, orchids and the smell of her gardenias. She loved to shop and absolutely loved having her family together for every single holiday throughout the year. Christmas was her favorite. She loved listening to and singing along with Christmas songs on the radio, decorating the house and the Christmas tree, but most of all she loved having her family together because her family was the most important thing to her. She loved her children with everything she had.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Jeffrey Hughes of Taylors, SC; her daughters, Cynthia Hughes of Umatilla, FL, and Cathy (Sean) Brooks of Leesburg, FL; her sister, Linda Odom; along with her beloved grand dog and three grand cats.

Carolyn is predeceased by her husband, Frank Gaglione; her father, Elmer Howard Price; her mother, Margie Dale Price; and her sister, Mary Price St. Lawrence.

Her loving memory will be cherished by all who knew her. An online guestbook is available at www.hardenpauli.com. Arrangements are made by Harden/Pauli Funeral Home in Eustis, Florida.
