Carol A. Simko, age 59, resided in Tavares, Florida passed away Monday, July 7, 2014 in the care of Cornerstone Hospice, after a brief battle with cancer. Carol was born October 25, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois to Austin & Barbara Littrell. She moved to Tavares in 1974 from Chicago, Illinois. She was a dietician at Sterling House of Tavares and attended St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mount Dora. Carol is survived by her son, John S. (Tricia) Simko, IV, Orange City, FL; daughter, Brandi (Roger) Britt, Mount Dora, FL; 4 grandchildren, Sierra, Levi, Destiny, Hailey; and good friend, Michael. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Simko, III. She was well loved and will be mourned by her friends, former coworkers, neighbors and extended family. Carol was an experienced horticulturist and held various positions in the production of ornamental plants until her retirement. She was first a loving mother and grandmother, friend to many and was keenly devoted to her late husband, John Simko, III. Carol's smile, kind words and demeanor always made others feel special - everyone admired her kindness and her love of animals. She was a woman of dignity and wisdom with a wonderful heart who lived by Christian principles. Services will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 7:00 PM.
