Carl David Howell

Carl David Howell, 79, of Grand Island, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015. Born in Portland, Indiana, he moved to Grand Island in 1996 from Union City, Indiana. He retired as a Engineman First Class in the US Navy after serving over 20 years. He was a veteran of Vietnam. Carl was a member of the VFW Post 8087 of Eustis, lifetime member of the American Legion, member of the Amvets, Eagles, Lake County War Veterans and the Elks Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Myrtle D. Howell, Grand Island, FL; brother, Walter Howell, Muncie, IN; sister, Esther Barton, Douglassville, PA; 3 sisters-in-law, Bonnie Stockton, New Castle, IN, Geraldine Baker, New Castle, IN, Elsie Ellison, Grand Island, FL; Nieces & Nephews. Graveside services will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
