Rev. Bruce M. Hobert

Rev. Bruce M. Hobert, 63, of Mount Dora, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013. Born in Charles City, Iowa, he moved to Mount Dora in 2001 from Cresco, Iowa. He was a Lutheran Minister. His first parish was Chetek Lutheran Church, Chetek, WI from 1976-1979; Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton, IA and St. John Lutheran Church, Boyd, IA from 1979-1994; Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cresco, IA from 1994-2001; and lastly at St. Philip Lutheran Church, Mount Dora, FL from 2001-2010 when he retired. He was currently a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Longwood, FL. Bruce is survived by his wife of 40 years, Liz Hobert, Mount Dora, FL; son, Nathan B. (Amanda) Hobert, Madison, WI; daughter, Karissa E. (Jason) Miller, Bradenton, FL; brother, Brent Hobert, Waverly, IA; sister, Barbara Barnett, Charles City, IA; 4 grandchildren, Hannah, Grace, Sam & Elise. Services will be held at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Longwood on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 10:30 AM. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a memorial gift in the name of Bruce Hobert to any of the following: Contribute through a gift to Bruce's current church and world missions through a gift to St. Stephen Lutheran Church in his name.
