Bobby Dean Crosby, beloved father born and raised in Leesburg FL, departed this life on January 17th, 2025 in Tavares FL with his daughter by his side. Born on April 28th, 1941, in Leesburg, FL to Troy and Bernice Crosby. Bobby spent his early years growing up on Sunnyside Dr. and enjoying hunting, fishing, water skiing and horseback riding all over Lake County. He was a graduate of Leesburg High School class of 1962. He joined the United States Air Force in 1963 and was honorably discharged in 1967. He returned to start a career in the citrus industry with Golden Gem Growers as an inventory clerk and made Umatilla his home. After leaving Golden Gem, he and his wife, Joanne Adkins Crosby, started their own business, Crosby Nurseries and enjoyed many successful years. He was a member of the former Westside Baptist Church in Leesburg, FL, Central Florida Dog Hunters Association, The Central Florida Florists Association, National Rifle Association, The Fraternal Order of Elks, VFW, and the Eagle riders. He was also a well known speaker for MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, ballroom dancing, motorcycle riding and enjoying a great meal. He is survived by his daughter, Shananne Crosby Cain of Umatilla, FL; sister, Shirley (Tom) Mayo of Astor, FL; brother, Billy (Janet) Crosby Of Hayesville, NC; three grandchildren, Randi Harris, Jessica Cain and Kyle Cain; four great-grandchildren, Justin Harris, Jordan Harris, Rilynn Cain and Colton Cain. A military graveside service will be held at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell on January 31st at 10am.
