Billy J. Simmons

Billy J. Simmons, 63, of Leesburg, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020. Born in Bartow, Florida, he graduated from Groveland High School in 1975. Billy worked as a General Manager with J E Hill Contractors Inc for most of his life but most recently was a Front End Loader Operator for Raney Construction/Builders First Source Company. Billy loved bowling, softball, fishing and playing golf. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Terri Simmons, Leesburg, FL; son, Brandon Simmons Sr, Umatilla, FL; daughter, Brittany Griffith, Eustis, FL; step son Matthew Gonzales, Williston, FL; step daughter Andrea Gonzales, Mascotte, FL; 2 granddaughters, Makenna Brakefield, Charlotte Staton, Eustis, FL; grandson, Brandon Simmons Jr, Umatilla, FL; brother, Doug Simmons, Albertville, AL; 4 sisters, Anna Coker, Cartersville, GA, Kathy Denley, Eupora, MS, Sally Woods, Eupora, MS, April Gibson, Eupora, MS. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Daisy Bakeman and his sister, Lori Lowery. A celebration of life service will be held at Lake Harris Hideaway, Tavares, on August 1, 2020 at 1 PM.
