Betty Jean Sprague

Betty Jean Sprague, 87, of Tavares, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022. Born in Fort Valley, Georgia to the late George and Helen Teece, she moved to Tavares in 1972 from St. Petersburg, FL. She worked as a school teacher in Lake County for many years, mostly at Tavares Middle School & also Eustis Middle School. Betty was a former member of Asbury Covenant Church, Tavares. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Rev. Richard M. Sprague, Tavares, FL, 2 sons, Mark Sprague, Grand Island, FL, Kent (Kim) Sprague, Tavares, FL; 3 sisters, Carol Fountain, Reynolds, GA, Charlotte Clark, Reynolds, GA, Kay Fredrick, Byron, GA; 2 grandchildren, Cody (Samantha) Sprague, Jacob (Deidra) Sprague; 3 great-grandchildren, Zachary, Knox and Noah. She was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan Sprague and grandson, Jordan Sprague. Services will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at 3:00 PM.
