Betty Mabel Smith Huffines

Betty Mabel Smith Huffines, 90, of Leesburg passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022 in Grand Island. Born in Hialeah, June 12, 1932, Betty was the widow of Byrd Lee Huffines and daughter of the late John Murray Smith, Jr. and Mabel James Smith. She was retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse and former Beauty Shop Owner. She was a member of Lake Saunders Baptist Church and former member of Bay Street Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and was active in the choir. Betty is survived by two sons: John Huffines (Terry) of Grand Island, and Mark Huffines of Amherst, VA; brother, Rev. M. Martin Smith of Grayson, GA; eight grandchildren: Jonni Marie Fonseca (Ryan) of Eustis, Joshua Huffines of Altoona (Stefanie), Cody Huffines (Steffanie) of Sorrento, Kaylee Claycomb (Chad) of Altoona, Sarah Fore (Chris) of Charlotte, NC, Adam Huffines (Alyssa) of Madison Heights, VA, Becca Pritchard (Corey) of Glen Mills, PA and Michael Huffines (Jessica) of Amherst, VA: ten great-grandchildren: Garrett Hanegan, Rosalee Huffines, Emma Fonseca, Colton Huffines, Wyatt Huffines, Hudson Fonseca, Emery Claycomb, Zion Fore, Liam Huffines, Claire Huffines and three more arriving in 2023. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022, at Harden-Pauli Funeral Home. Interment will be held privately. Arrangements by Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis.
