Bernd “Ben” Wilkerson, 52, of Eustis, Florida passed away September 7, 2020. Born and raised in Eustis, Florida he graduated from Eustis High School in 1987 and lived most of his adult life in Umatilla, Florida. Our dad showed strength and love right up until his last days with us. He visited with friends and family, reminiscing, sharing, laughing and soaking in the wonderful memories and love that surrounded him. Ben was a hardworking, dedicated man who started his professional line growing up at European Car Service as a mechanic before transitioning to work at Eustis Amoco in 1995. He later started his own business known as Ben Wilkerson's Tractor and Concrete Services. He enjoyed spending time with his loving family, animals, riding in the woods and mudbogging, working on and fixing up 4 wheelers, dirt bikes and all things mechanical. Ben was always right there when a family member or friend was in need. He would show up with tools and equipment on hand ready to work. His family church was Grace Bible Baptist Church, Fruitland Park where he was baptized. He is survived by his parents James “Jim” and Rosemarie Wilkerson of Eustis, FL, sister Vera (Randy) Martin of Leesburg, FL, sons Dalton (Felipe) Lino Oliveira of Los Angeles, CA, Mitchell (Ashley) Wilkerson of Eustis, FL, grandchild Camden Wilkerson of Eustis, FL, niece Erika (Michael) Cruciger of Leesburg, FL, nephews Austin (Haylee) Hibbard of Umatilla, FL, Tanner Martin of Leesburg, FL, great-niece Audrey of Leesburg, FL, great nephew Ryder of Leesburg, FL, Aunt Valley Beggs of Leesburg, FL, first cousin Paula Fugelestead of Leesburg, FL and many more extended family members. A Celebration of Ben’s life will be held at his son, Mitchell’s home 36840 Forestdel Drive, Eustis, FL 32726 on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Please dress casual for being outdoors. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either Grace Bible Baptist Church of Fruitland Park, Florida or the Lake County Humane Society.
