Bebe Brown Jester, 86 passed away on May 25, 2015. Bebe was born in Wisconsin but was raised in Tampa, Florida where she attended the local schools. While attending Plant High School she was involved in the ROTC and was the assistant to the editor of the school newspaper. When she was 14 she met the love of her life Niles Jester. After graduating from high school she went to Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia while Niles was in the service. She married Niles in August of 1948 and they moved to the University of Florida where she worked to put Niles through college working in the register’s office. After Niles graduated they moved to Orlando, Florida where they started a family. Bebe and Niles had six children.
Bebe was involved in the community of Orlando. She was a member of Junior Sorosis, and the Emmanuel Episcopal Church. She was active in her children’s school attending PTA meetings and being on the board committee. She also coordinated the Additions program one year at Audubon Elementary School. She loved to play duplicate bridge and was able to compete. She placed second in one of her tournaments.
Bebe enjoyed football. She and Niles had season tickets to the Florida Gator Football games and for many years they were able to attend the games. They also shared a love of fishing and after Niles discovered North Captiva Pass they would go fishing every other weekend. Bebe loved to snorkel while down there and later in life learned to scuba dive because she enjoyed looking for the shells and watching the fish. She actually started a small business using shells to make things.
Bebe is predeceased by her husband Niles. She is survived by her daughters: Susan (Gene), Ann (David), Betsy (Jack), Sally (Kevin) and Ellen (Tim) and son Niles Jr. (Maria); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 1603 East Winter Park Road, Orlando at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Arrangements by Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis.
