Arnold V. “Arnie” Heiman, 87, passed away peacefully at home in Mt. Dora, FL on December 31, 2010. . He was born June 6, 1923 in Ohio. Mr. Heiman graduated from Haskins High School in 1937 and joined the Army Air Force from 1943 to 1945. After returning home he went to and graduated from Toledo University in 1949. Mr. Heiman worked as a representative with the Welsh Baby Furniture Manufacturing Company for 36 years. Mr. Heiman was an active, well liked member of the Dora Pines Community in Mount Dora for 16 years. He was an avid golfer at Columbia Hills Country Club in OH for almost 40 years, also at Pine Hills Country Club in Mt. Dora, FL. He belonged to Bay Tree Travel League in Tavares, FL and they dedicated a day to him once a year as the oldest golfer of the league. He was recognized with a plaque from the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Heiman is preceded in death by his parents Arnold A. and Beolia Heiman and beloved wife of 51 years Shirley (nee Unkart). He is survived by Wife- Christine (Isabella) Heiman whom married in 1995. Daughter and Son in Law- Susan and Greg Belko, Ohio; Son and Daughter-In-Law- Allen and Cathy Heiman of Spencer, NY; Grandchildren, Big Matt, Amanda, Belko, Liam, and Jack Heiman; Step-Son- and Daughter-In- Law- Raymond and Jennifer Ujlaki; Step-Daughter-Denise Gordon of Ohio, Step-Grandchildren- Siarrah McGuire-Jourdan, Olivia and Emma; Brother and Sister-In-Law- Robert and Janet Heiman; Sister and Brother-In-Law-Shirley and Chet(deceased) Long; Sister-In-Law- Dolly Dubiel; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis. Service will follow at 1:00 PM. All guests are invited back to Dora Pines Club House for refreshments following the service.
