Aretha Elizabeth Walker

Aretha Elizabeth Walker, 84, of Tavares, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017. Born in Waycross, GA, she moved to Tavares in the early 1950's from Georgia. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Community Chapel-First Church of God, Mount Dora. Aretha was very active with her church. She held numerous offices and was active with the youth ministry. She loved her animals and enjoyed taking care of others. She is predeceased by her Husband, Earl Walker, Jr.; Son, James E. Walker; Brothers, Oscar Hand, Bob Hand, and Joe Hand; and Sisters, Eva Cox and Jeanette Hughes. She is survived by her Son, David Walker of Eustis, FL; Daughter, Patty A. Hickox of Eustis, FL; and Grandson, Steve S. Lightner, Jr. of Eustis, FL; The family will receive friends at the Community Chapel-First Church of God, Mount Dora on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 11:00 AM till Noon. Funeral services will be held at Noon with a reception to follow. Graveside committal services will be held at Center Hill Cemetery, Center Hill, FL on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
