Anthony "Tony" James Manis Sr., 62, Grand Island, FL, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, at Cornerstone Hospice House in Tavares, after a 5-month courageous battle of cancer. Born in Millington, TN, he moved to Lake County in 1980. He was a middle school teacher for the Lake County school system for more than 28 years. He was a Catholic and served as a sergeant in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Debbie of 32 years of marriage; mother, Myra Manis of Eustis, FL; son, Anthony J. (Becky) Manis Jr., Grand Island; daughters, Kim Wrubleski-Jackson, Grand Island, Stephanie (Dave) Murdoch, Windermere, FL, and Melissa (Brian) Weddle, Tavares, FL; sister, Gloria "Sis" (Scotty) Kephart, Eustis; brothers, Andy (Janet) Manis and Paul Manis, both of Eustis; his cherished granddaughters, Madison Murdoch, Brea Weddle and McKenzie Manis; niece, Amanda Lynn Kephart; nephews, Ian, Travis and Orion Manis; in-laws, Joe and Mary Caplano, Summerfield.
