Amos Eugene Smith

July 28, 1932 — January 6, 2013

Amos Eugene Smith, 80, of Mount Dora, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013. Born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, he moved to Mount Dora in 1973 from Colerain, Ohio. He was co-owner of Precision Homes of Tavares, and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 8087, Army/Navy Club, AMVETS & Eustis Moose Lodge and was Lutheran. Amos proudly served his country in the US Army during Korea and following his lead, Amos has a grandson in the US Navy Special Forces. Amos is survived by his 3 daughters, Barbara J. Johnson, Columbus, OH, Mary Ann Samples, Westminster, MD, Amy Bargar, Mount Dora, FL; 4 brothers, Ned Smith, Colerain, OH, Chuck Smith, Ventura, CA, John Smith, Cleveland, OH, Fred Smith, Saint Clairsville, OH; 3 sisters, Ruth Durbin, Mount Pleasant, OH, Eleanor Higgs, Sunset Heights, OH, Mary Ann Brown, Tavares, FL; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren with another on the way. Amos was preceded in death by his brother, Roscoe. Military Services will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
