Alan W. Waldrop, 62, of Tavares, passed away suddenly, but peacefully, at home Sunday, November 26, 2017, entering the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ! Born in Bethesda, Maryland, he moved to Central Florida when he was very young. Alan grew up in Pine Hills (Orlando), living in and out of Florida during his early adult life. Ultimately returning home to Central Florida many years ago, he recently relocated to Tavares in 2015. The survivor of a tragic fall off Stone Mountain, Georgia, he was confined to a wheelchair since the age of 18. Even so, he was fiercely independent and maintained an incredible zest for life, constantly doing and achieving. He was a Mechanical Engineer for Lockheed Martin and the Department of Defense, retiring several years ago. Alan was a brilliant intellectual and held several Masters Degrees . He also was an avid reader, photographer, sportsman, woodworker, mechanic and computer enthusiast. Alan loved his church, pastor and congregants at Epiphany Anglican Church of Eustis, and was grateful for his membership there. He is survived by Brother, Danny Waldrop of Kernersville, NC; Sister, Linda Marlor of Greenville, SC; Ex-wife, Holly Eckart and numerous close friends. Celebration of Life services will be held at the Epiphany Anglican Church of Eustis, on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 1:30 PM.
