Alan W. Mielke, 68, of Eustis, passed away Monday, August 22, 2022. Born in Eustis, Florida, he graduated from Eustis High School. Alan had many jobs throughout his lifetime, starting as a roofer & contractor with Milky Way Builders. He was a licensed realtor and most recently worked in Insurance and Investments with A.L. Williams (now known as Primerica Life). Alan was Paul Harris Fellow with the Mount Dora Rotary Club and was a faithful member of Trinity E.F.C, Eustis. He taught a Tuesday morning men’s bible study for more than 30 years. Every Tuesday at 6:00 a.m. he would share his Alanisms and detailed knowledge of the Bible. These men all shared a love of God’s word and spending time with each other and would often continue with a breakfast field trip after. Alan’s claim to fame was always being ready with the best (worst) dad jokes ever and always having a story ready (that you had probably heard before). Alan loved life and the word of God. He loved God’s creation and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed many evenings playing cards with friends and loved using his history knowledge at trivia night. Alan was surrounded by great cooks who helped with his love of food. Alan was a coach for youth league football for many years before having children of his own. When they arrived, he was Uncle Alan or a second dad to many of Jared and Whitney’s friends. The Mielkes’ house was always open and served as an home to many who needed it over the years. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karen Gnann Mielke, Eustis, FL; son, Jared Alan (Ashley) Mielke, Hayden, ID; daughter, Whitney Lynne (Joshua) Bonner, Eustis, FL; sister, Linda M. Iglio, Indian Harbor Beach, FL; 5 grandchildren, Ani, Kale, Emory, Liam, Bryson; A memorial service will be held at Trinity Church, Eustis on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SON Ministry at Trinity Church, 890 Abrams Road, Eustis, Florida 32726. Online Guestbook available at
