Theodore "Ted" Mackey, Jr., 75, of Tavares, Florida, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023. Born and raised in Leesburg, Florida, he graduated in 1967 from Carver Heights High School (The Fighting Trojans) in Leesburg. Ted was a Lieutenant with the Lake County Sheriff's Office working mostly in corrections. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Mackey, Tavares, FL; 2 daughters, Stacey Mackey, Mount Dora, FL, Rhonda Mackey, Eustis, FL; 5 brothers, Michael Mackey, Leesburg, FL, James Mackey, Leesburg, FL, Erwin Mackey, Leesburg, FL, Curl Mackey, Leesburg, FL; 5 sisters, Patricia (Joseph) Godwin, Leesburg, FL, Edith (Jay) Williams, Leesburg, FL, Edna Livingston, Leesburg, FL, Kathy Mackey, Eustis, FL, Alma Mackey, Eustis, FL; 8 grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, 1617 South Bay Street, Eustis, Florida 32726.
