Larry Gene Chavis, 74, of Altoona, Florida, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022. Born in Slocomb, AL he moved to Altoona in 1986 from Dothan, AL. He was a Truck Driver working for Golden Gem and later for the City of Eustis. Larry enjoyed fishing, country music, collecting knives, playing his guitar and harmonica, and he was also an avid Alabama Crimson Tide Fan. Larry is predeceased by his parents Dewey Lee Chavis and Carlie Katie Jones; Brothers, L.D. Chavis, Johnny Chavis, Billy Chavis, Charles Chavis, Harold Chavis, and Bobby Chavis, Sister, Ruby Creamer, Annie Merle Creamer and Lillie Ruth Jones; and Grandson, Kyle LaFleur. He is survived by his Wife, Linda Carol Chavis of Altoona, FL; sons, Michael (Pam) Chavis of Oxford, FL, Larry (Jessica) Chavis, Jr. of Fort Mc Coy, FL; daughters, Angela (Jeramy) Lamm of Leesburg, FL; Daughter, Theresa (Randy) Waller, of Leesburg, FL; brother, Gerald (Judy) Chavis; sister Geraldine (Earl) Hallman; 15 Grandchildren; 15 Great-Grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends. Services will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Umatilla Cemetery Annex, Umatilla, FL. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM.
