Cory Chance Roberts

May 25, 2000 — May 2, 2021

Cory Chance Roberts, 20, of Eustis, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021. Born in Orlando, Florida, he grew up in Orlando and Eustis. He graduated from Eustis High School Class of 2019. Since graduating he has worked for a petroleum company. Everyone who knew Cory shared a unique and beautiful experience with him and he will always live on through that memory whether it was something funny, something that brought you joy, or made you think about things in a way you never thought before. If you are reading this and know Cory, he would want you to remember the good times you shared together with one of your loved ones, and if you never knew him he would want you to know that we get one chance in the world and he would want you to live it to the fullest no matter what. He was a best friend, a lover, a fighter, a dreamer, and anything and everything else in between and he will be sorely missed and loved forever. Cory will be missed every minute of every day by his Father, Steven Roberts, his Mother, Kimberly Roberts, his brother, Dalton Roberts, Eustis, FL; grandparents, Walt & Mary Roberts, Jerry & Clara Jo Hatley, Linda NeSmith, George & Becky McArthur, his loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, many friends and co-workers. Online Guestbook available at www.hardenpauli.com Arrangements by Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis. Son, Brother and Friend, in his short 20 years of life Cory was the epitome of this quote. You are our shining light forever.

Build Me a Son, O Lord

Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid; one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory.

Build me a son whose wishbone will not be where his backbone should be; a son who will know Thee and that to know himself is the foundation stone of knowledge. Lead him, I pray, not in the path of ease and comfort, but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenge. Here let him learn to stand up in the storm; here let him learn compassion for those who fail.

Build me a son whose heart will be clean, whose goal will be high; a son who will master himself before he seeks to master other men; one who will learn to laugh, yet never forget how to weep; one who will reach into the future, yet never forget the past.

And after all these things are his, add, I pray, enough of a sense of humor, so that he may always be serious, yet never take himself too seriously. Give him humility, so that he may always remember the simplicity of greatness, the open mind of true wisdom, the meekness of true strength.

Then I, his father, will dare to whisper, “I have not lived in vain.” (General Douglas MacArthur)
